KORI (JUTE SILK SAREE)
STORY:
While the elder women in the house busied themselves within the incredible weaves, the others in the village used to get themselves busy in traditional games. Of the most popular one, and the one I was most competitive in, used to be Kori khel (Koris are shells of mollusks), all the young ones including the children played this game by singing and forming a circle. All the players draw boxes on the ground and with a specific movement of the hand, throw the koris (seashells) into those boxes, if the koris fall upside down, the game continues.
This black saree with small boota motifs motifs would make you stand out in the crowd.
