The best part of our festive morning is getting dressed up. Putting on the brightest colored clothes, donning kajal, and ornamenting hairs with kopou fulor gajra would get me the brightest smiles and warmth that none other than an Indian weave can bring to me.

Mekhela Chador is a traditional attire worn by women in Assam. The bottom portion draped from the waist downwards, is called the mekhela. The top portion is the chador which is a long piece of cloth which has one end tucked into the upper portion of the mekhela above the belly button and the rest is draped around the chest similarly like a saree. One of the most hassle-free garment, mekhela chador looks as elegant and stylish as a saree once it is draped.
