DESCRIPTION:
The saree has woven Gos buta (tree) motif in the pallu and border. Inspired from the rich flora of the region, Gos buta is one of the most prevalent motifs in the Assamese weave. It is represented as two birds facing each other in a tree. The body of the saree has small buta woven in the entire body.
The saree has woven Kingkhap motif in the pallu and border. Kingkhap motif, one of the most popular design of Assamese weave has arrived in Assam from Ahom dynasty. It is represented by two lions facing each other that depicted the courage,bravery and royalty of the earstwhile Ahom kingdom. The body of the saree has kingkhap motifs woven in the entire body.
